National Diamond Valuers provide a unique and highly-specialised diamond valuation and certification service that is completely independent from any diamond or jewellery retailer, wholesaler or manufacturer. Unlike many other diamond valuers and certifiers, we do not sell diamonds or manufacture jewellery – nor do we have an interest in, or affiliation with, any company that does. This means we are completely impartial, with no hidden agenda or sales objectives.
At National Diamond Valuers we pride ourselves on our impartiality, expertise, and demonstrated attention to detail, which uniquely positions us to provide our clients with trusted advice and professionally respected valuation and certification services.
A diamond certification from National Diamond Valuers is an assurance that your diamond has been carefully examined, thoroughly tested, and accurately graded and valued. We guarantee the legitimacy of our valuation and certification services because we use:
National Diamond Valuers use formal chain of custody procedures to maintain the safety and security of your diamond, so we know exactly where it is at all times. National Diamond Valuers use specially-developed testing processes to carefully assess and verify the quality of every diamond entrusted to us against internationally-recognised standards.
National Diamond Valuers has one of our expert gemmologists use the aforementioned specialised processes, authoritative standards, precision tools and latest technology to thoroughly examine and grade your diamond. Your diamond is then examined and graded by a second gemmologist, to ensure the most accurate result, prior to certification.
National Diamond Valuers’ qualified and experienced professional gemmologists subject every diamond that we value to rigorous testing procedures, using careful handling procedures and strict quality control standards.
Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art diamond-grading equipment which, in combination with our stringent assessment processes and years of industry experience, have gained our gemmologists solid reputations for high-quality, accurate and consistent valuation and certification services.
The diamond valuation service provided by National Diamond Valuers includes:
National Diamond Valuers grade your diamond against the universally-accepted colour grading scale developed by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), using a GIA master set for visual comparison in combination with a Gran DC3000 Mk2 colourimeter.
Grading of fancy-coloured diamonds is National Diamond Valuers’ speciality and we are fortunate to have unrestricted access to the only Argyle pink and red diamond master set in Australia. Our experienced gemmologists and diamond graders use the state-of-the-art Judge II Viewing Booth, in combination with either the GIA Coloured Diamond Grading Scale or the Argyle Grade of Fancy Coloured Diamonds (depending upon the colour and origin of the stone) to expertly grade fancy-colour diamonds.
The gemmologists at National Diamond Valuers use their training and years of experience, coupled with our laboratory equipment’s superior magnification capabilities, to thoroughly examine your diamond, assess its clarity against the GIA Diamond Clarity Scale and correctly assign a clarity grade. National Diamond Valuers produce a clear and accurate diagram that plots all internal and external characteristics of your diamond, for inclusion in your valuation and grading report and Diamond Certification.
National Diamond Valuers use the latest technology, including the Sarin DiaMension and the Sarin Diascan in combination with Cut Grade Analyzer software, to accurately measure and assess the proportions and angles of your cut and polished stone. Our professional gemmologists and diamond graders then use these measurements, along with the parameters set by the GIA Diamond Cut Scale, to assign one of five cut grades.
National Diamond Valuers use precision instruments and the latest technology to give you an exact measurement of your investment diamond’s carat weight, to ensure the validity of your valuation.
As part of the assessment process National Diamond Valuers will perform fluorescence testing on your diamond, to determine its reaction to invisible UV-A light.
Our experienced gemmologists will carefully examine your stone to verify whether it is natural, created or simulated, and use state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to detect the presence of additives and determine whether any kind of colour- or clarity-enhancing treatment has been used to improve its appearance.
After our experienced gemmologists have completed the valuation process, using strict quality standards and precision instruments to expertly grade, weigh, and value your diamond investment, National Diamond Valuers issues a Diamond Certification. This document is your guarantee that an accurate and reliable professional valuation has been undertaken by a renowned diamond grader and qualified gemmologist.
Your National Diamond Valuers Diamond Certification is a printed report providing an unbiased, authoritative assessment of your diamond’s quality and value.
Where a thorough assessment by National Diamond Valuers determines that your stone is a simulant or has been laboratory grown or treated, we will not provide a valuation report or issue a Diamond Certification as it is impossible to accurately grade these stones.
